Clear instructions use short action verbs in a sensible order. A final review helps us connect words, grammar and materials.
Sequence action instructions
Listen for command verbs such as turn, open, catch and put. Decide what must happen first, next and last so the actions make sense.
Example: Open the window. Catch the fly safely. Put it outside.

Begin a command with a verb
A short instruction often begins with the base verb. Do not add he or she before the command. Keep it polite and safe.
