Anggar Panjang Objek

panjang rujukan = reference length
To estimate, compare the object with something whose length you already know, such as a 10 cm card. See about how many cards long the object is, then work out the total.
Example: a book is about 3 cards long, so the estimate is 10 + 10 + 10 = 30 cm.
Watch out: place the reference right beside the object and start from the same end, or the comparison is unfair.
Langkah 2

Pilih unit dahulu

objek kecil → cm · jarak panjang → m
pilih unit = choose the unit
Before estimating, decide between centimetres and metres. Small items like a pencil case use cm; long distances like a field or a corridor use m. The right unit makes the estimate sensible.
Example: a door about 2 m tall equals 100 + 100 = 200 cm, and 2 m is simpler to write.
Watch out: 2 m and 200 cm are the same length even though the numbers look so different.
Langkah 3

anggaran ↔ ukuran sebenar = estimate and actual measurement
After estimating, really measure with a ruler, then subtract the smaller number from the bigger one to find the gap. A small gap means a good estimate, and it helps you guess better next time.
Example: estimate 50 cm, measure 56 cm, and the difference is 56 - 50 = 6 cm.
Watch out: an estimate does not need to match exactly, so a small gap is not a mistake.

Pensel rujukan 15 cm. Pensel sasaran sedikit lebih panjang. Anggaran sesuai ialah…

sedikit lebih panjang = a little longer
The reference pencil is 15 cm, and the target pencil is only a little longer. So the estimate must be more than 15 cm, but not much more. Also check the unit, because a pencil cannot be metres long.
Example: a reference rope is 20 cm and another is a little shorter, so about 20 - 2 = 18 cm is sensible.
Watch out: sedikit means a small amount, not many times bigger.

Meja rujukan 1 m. Meja lain hampir sama panjang. Anggaran sesuai ialah…

hampir sama panjang = almost the same length
The reference table is 1 m long, and the other table is almost the same length. The key words hampir sama mean close to the reference, not far away. Check the unit too.
Example: one brick is 20 cm and a similar brick is about the same, so two bricks make about 20 + 20 = 40 cm.
Watch out: picture a real table first, then judge whether each number and unit makes sense.
