Kenal operasi = 认识运算
编故事前先决定用哪个符号。“+”表示把两份合起来或再加进来；“−”表示拿走后剩多少，或比较两个数相差多少。听到“一共”想加法，听到“剩下”想减法。
例子：车上有 23 人，又上来 15 人，23 + 15 = 38 人。
注意：“相差多少”也是减法，不要因为有两个数就用加法。

Kenal operasi = Know the operation
Before making a story, decide which sign fits. A plus sign joins two amounts or adds more. A minus sign finds what is left after taking away, or the difference between two amounts. 'Altogether' points to adding; 'gave away' points to subtracting.
Example: A bus has 23 people and 15 more get on, so 23 + 15 = 38 people.
Watch out: 'How many more' is a subtraction question even though nothing is taken away.

Gunakan semua nombor = 用上所有的数
题目给的数都要出现在故事里，可以是两个数，也可以是三个数。故事可以用问句结尾，也可以用陈述句把答案说出来。这样才配得上算式。
例子：120 + 45：小明有 120 颗弹珠，哥哥再给他 45 颗，共几颗？120 + 45 = 165 颗。
注意：不要只写“有 120 颗和 45 颗”就停了，要说明合起来或剩下多少。

Gunakan semua nombor = Use all the numbers
A good story uses all the given numbers, whether two or three, and can end with a question or a statement that gives the answer. If one number is missing, the story no longer matches the number sentence. The question shows what to work out.
Example: For 120 + 45: Ali has 120 marbles and his brother gives him 45 more. How many now? 120 + 45 = 165 marbles.
Watch out: Do not stop at listing the numbers; say how many there are altogether or how many are left.

Semak kesepadanan = 检查是否相符
写好后再读一遍，看故事里的事和算式是否一样。算式是减法，故事里就要有拿走、用掉或比较。算式是加法，就要有合起来。
例子：300 − 120 = 180：店里有 300 个面包，卖出 120 个，还剩 180 个。
注意：数字对了、动作写反（卖出写成买进）也不相符。

Semak kesepadanan = Check that it matches
Read the story again and check that what happens in it matches the number sentence. A subtraction sentence needs taking away, using up or comparing. The final number in the story must equal the answer of the sentence.
Example: 300 − 120 = 180: a shop has 300 buns, sells 120, and has 180 buns left.
Watch out: The numbers can be right while the action is wrong, such as writing 'bought' instead of 'sold'.
