231 + 146 = 377

Gabung dua kuantiti = 合并两个数量
加法就是把两堆东西合在一起。231 + 146：个位 1 + 6 = 7，十位 3 + 4 = 7，百位 2 + 1 = 3，合起来是 377。
例子：152 + 325 = 477。
注意：加法的和一定比两个加数都大，如果变小就是算错了。

Gabung dua kuantiti = Join two amounts
Adding joins two amounts together. For 231 + 146, the ones give 1 + 6 = 7, the tens give 3 + 4 = 7 and the hundreds give 2 + 1 = 3, so the total is 377.
Example: 152 + 325 = 477.
Watch out: A sum is always bigger than each number added; a smaller answer means a mistake.

In column addition, put ones under ones, tens under tens and hundreds under hundreds, then add from the ones. Each column then adds the same kind of place.
Example: For 402 + 35, line the 5 up under the 2, giving 402 + 35 = 437.
Watch out: Line a two-digit number up on the right, not under the hundreds.

Semak dengan anggaran

Anggar jumlah dahulu. Jika 320 + 170, jawapan patut hampir 500.

320 + 170 ≈ 500

Semak dengan anggaran = 用估计检查
先估计答案大概多少：320 + 170，可以想成 300 + 200 = 500，所以算出的答案应该接近 500。
例子：410 + 290 = 700，估计 400 + 300 = 700，答案合理。
注意：如果答案和估计差很远，就要回头检查每一列。

Semak dengan anggaran = Check with an estimate
Estimate the total first. For 320 + 170, think about 300 + 200 = 500, so the real answer should be close to 500.
Example: 410 + 290 = 700, and the estimate 400 + 300 = 700 agrees, so the answer makes sense.
Watch out: If your answer is far from the estimate, go back and check your columns.
